The New Cyrus XP Range

The new XP project
Over the last year Cyrus has secured many Best In Class and Product-of-the-Year awards for our CD players. They are based on our uniquely advanced CD ‘engine’ we refer to a Servo Evolution or SE for short. As it became apparent just how far ahead of the competition the new CD players are. We challenged our R&D team to redesign our 6 & 8 series amplifiers to better match the ‘World class’ performance of the SE CD platform.

How we developed XP
We wanted to elevate the audio performance of our 6 & 8 series many times above our previous models. The starting point for this new upgradeable amplifier platform was the high performance pre-amp design from our X series model, DAC XP. We have designed three variants of the new XP platform, each benefits from this trickle down of technology.

Two integrated amplifiers 6 XP and 8 XP and the Pre XP fit into the new platform in such a way that a consumer can specify a bespoke amplifier to fit exactly what they require today, and also upgrade from one model to another providing long term future value. In order to make significant step changes in sound quality we needed to research the latest components that have become available. Exhaustive listening sessions took place for our listening panel to decide if the proposed changes offered benefits, ultimately they make the call whether any component offers a true advance or not. The new amps include many new features such a second zone output, USB computer connectivity and more power. Incredibly they now consume a fraction of the standby power of the previous models and gain the user friendly LCD user interface from the DAC XP.
